The City of Cibolo is seeking a highly motivated Animal Services Officer that you will represent the City of Cibolo Animal Services Division out in the field. You will be expected to answer incoming calls regarding lost and stray animals, handle the safe transport of these animals and provide them with the utmost care. You will be responsible for investigating bite cases and preparing rabies specimens for intake. Much of your day will be spent around animals. This position will enhance team building skills and your knowledge of animal wildlife operations. It is your priority to deliver excellent customer service to our citizens while maintaining the City of Cibolo’s efforts to enhance our Animal Shelter.

Our Type : You must be able to assist with securing, handling and care of lost and stray animals (including wildlife) in the field. You must also assist with the feeding, cleaning, walking, and caring for all Cibolo animals in the Animal Services Shelter. The ideal candidate must maintain a knowledge and appreciation of the Cibolo Ordinances and its basic safety standards and practices. An understanding of Animal Officer operations is a must for this candidate. We are looking for a candidate that can work independently and in a team with minimal supervision. The perfect candidate will have experience with animal care operations in the field. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in this role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness, and dependability.
You are empathetic to animals in need but are able to multi-task, so your work gets completed in an organized fashion. You follow through and are accountable for all actions. Being at work on time is a priority along with following all safety protocols. When an emergency situation arises, you are not easily flustered but are willing to work hard to help in any way designated by your leadership team. - High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional animal handling experience
- Valid Texas Class “C” Driver License
- Valid Texas DSHS Animal Control Officer Basic Training certification within six (6) months of date of hire
