Knowledge of:
Principles and procedures associated with Human Resources, such as: recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiations, workforce development, organizational design and development, employee relations and HR information systems.
Principles and processes for providing customer and personalized services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, and quality improvement methods.
Communication and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to provide information.
Microsoft Office products to include Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook and other HR related systems.
Federal and state employment related laws and regulations; specifically, EEO, ADA, FMLA, Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection, and Labor Relations.
Conflict resolution and negotiation techniques.
Skill to:
Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Each applicant must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the following areas: human resources, industrial relations, business administration, public administration, psychology, or a closely related field.
Other Requirements
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Ohio driver's license may be required.
Environmental Conditions: Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to office computer screens; exposure to extremes in weather conditions; automobile travel within the City may be required.
Physical Conditions: Duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; light lifting and carrying; general manual dexterity required; must be able to operate assigned vehicle
