What are the responsibilities and job description for the PLANT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (UTILITY SERVICES) position at City of Cincinnati?
This employee supports the Water Works Department in the design, fabrication, maintenance, replacement and repairs to components of plant structures, equipment, and grounds for utility facilities. Employee directs the efforts associated with trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and other utility systems; supervises technical personnel and other staff in all aspects of design, fabrication, maintenance, replacement and repairs to components of plant structures and grounds for utility facilities; provides direct supervision of trades personnel and lower level maintenance personnel; participates as a senior staff member for the department, and provides responsible assistance to department management staff. May require technical knowledge and skills to supervise utility trades and plant facility and grounds areas. Performs related duties as required.

Each applicant must have four years of full time, paid work experience in a commercial, utility, or industrial environment involved in the design, installation, fabrication, maintenance, or repair of facilities structures, grounds, equipment, HVAC, or building systems. Experience may include but not be limited to water/wastewater treatment plants, administration buildings, manufacturing facilities, or other similar industries. Experience must include one year of training or directing the work of lower-level employees.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Must be an excellent communicator and team builder
Must be willing to work other than normal work hours and respond to emergency calls when necessary.
Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work at heights requiring fall arrest equipment.
Environmental Conditions: Primarily a plant utility environment; some exposure to varying weather conditions, slippery or uneven surfaces or noise.
Physical Conditions: Duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing, and/or walking for prolonged periods of time, as well as heavy to moderate lifting of objects; must be able to operate assigned equipment; general manual dexterity required; audiovisual and linguistic acuity required. Position may require work in confined spaces and at heights requiring fall arrest equipment.
