Make architectural presentations to the public.
Use computer office applications to prepare necessary documents and correspondence.
Manage, supervise and train subordinate personnel; assign work to subordinate personnel.
Examples of Work Performed:

Prepare design concepts, plans, etc. for assigned projects; use CAD and manual methods.
Write and prepare urban design or facility plans, including analyses, design, guidelines and recommendations.
Prepare specifications, estimates and contract documents for assigned projects.
Prepare verbal, written and graphic presentations as assigned; produce renderings and models as appropriate.
Attend a variety of meetings with clients, contractors, City administrators and other groups; negotiate with various groups as needed in order to see projects through to completion.
Assume project management duties and project team coordination duties as assigned; fill in for Architect Supervisor as assigned.
Provide instruction, training and assistance to technical staff as appropriate.
Write reports and prepare correspondence as assigned.
Prepare paperwork for contract bidding processes; review bid documents received.
Provide information and assistance with developing the departmental budget.
Assist those contacted in the course of duty in an effective, efficient and professional manner.
Perform related duties as assigned.
To qualify as a Senior Architect:
PROMOTIONAL: Each applicant must have three years experience with the City of Cincinnati as an Architecture Intern plus a Bachelors degree (five- or six-year track) from an accredited college or university in architecture.
REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS: RESUME AND TRANSCRIPTS SHOWING THE DEGREE ATTAINED, STATE OF OHIO ARCHITECTURAL LICENSE, AND A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.
OPEN: Each applicant must have a Bachelor's degree (five- or six-year track) from an accredited college or university in architecture. If not registered in Ohio when appointed, Ohio registration must be obtained during the probationary period.
REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS: RESUME AND TRANSCRIPTS SHOWING THE DEGREE ATTAINED, STATE OF OHIO ARCHITECTURAL LICENSE OR THE ABILITY TO OBTAINED DURING PROBATIONARY PERIOD, AND A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
To qualify as an ARCHITECT INTERN:
Each applicant must have a Bachelor's degree (five- or six-year track) from an accredited college or university in architecture. (No Architect license is required)

ARCHITECT INTERN SALARY (as of 2/25/2025):
$67,019.43 - $90,068.51 Annually
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Background Investigation: A criminal background investigation will be conducted for this position (according to Civil Service Commission Rule 15 – Sensitive Classifications/Positions and the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act of 2001 and the Patriot Act). The purpose is to detect security risks and prevent security threats posed by potential employees.
U.S. Citizenship: All positions with the City of Cincinnati require that each applicant be a citizen of the United States or have a valid permanent resident card at the time of appointment (date of hire).
