GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
This is the first of five levels in the Equipment Operations series. Incumbents operate dump trucks, snowplows and similar vehicles requiring a commercial driver's license. Responsibilities may include operating various vehicles, flagging traffic, and performing manual labor.

Essential Functions :
Operates heavy, specialized equipment, which may include dump trucks, snowplows, tractors, street sweepers, and / or related equipment.Transport equipment and / or materials to designated job site(s).Inspects, maintains, and performs basic repairs to equipment.Operates a variety of small motorized and / or hand tools to perform manual labor activities.Performs various duties requiring manual labor including flagging traffic, picking up debris, and / or other related duties.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.Performs other related work as required.Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent.No experience required.License and Certifications
Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.Supplemental Information

The work is heavy work which requires exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required :
Balancing : Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.Climbing : Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and / or hands and arms.
