What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender/Event Staff position at City of Clayton?
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides bartending and snack bar services to ensure effective operations of concessions and events for golf and banquet operations; ensures customer satisfaction through providing the best possible service standards.
This position reports to the Event Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
- Greets patrons; provides prompt, courteous and friendly customer service.
- Interacts with customers face to face. Answers questions or refers customer to Event Manager.
- Uses point of sales system to sell beverages and food and handles cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
- Reconciles crash drawer with daily sales report.
- Pours and serves drinks and beverages such as beer, wine, and spirits.
- Complies with food and beverage regulations in place by federal, state and local governments.
- Receives and fulfills all drink and food orders in a timely manner.
- Assists with cleaning all work areas and contributes to the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.
- Assists with putting away various inventory items.
- Prepares beverage stations for events.
- Assists in event set up and break down procedures.
- Performs special projects as delegated by management.
- Performs all work duties in accordance with City policies and procedures.
- Works in safe manner and reports all unsafe activity and conditions.
- Regular attendance required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral directions.
- Ability to effectively utilize computer, tablet and other point of sales hardware.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision in accomplishing assigned duties.
- Ability to clearly communicate with supervisors, employees and patrons.
- Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and patrons.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Skills in customer service with an emphasis on patience
- Knowledge and enforcement of liquor code.
- Knowledge of concessions and/or bar operations.
