The City of Clayton Public Works Department is seeking applicants for the Municipal Service Technician I-Business Area position. The Municipal Service Technician I position Performs unskilled manual labor to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the Business District. Additionally, it involves identifying and reporting potential code violations. This position will also support general Public Works operations and serve as a liaison for issues requiring attention from neighboring agencies. The City's Public Works Department's Mission is to "Provide exceptional service and sustainable infrastructure that promotes valued neighborhoods." The Public Works Department is divided into four divisions - Engineering and Administration, Operations, Facilities Maintenance, and Fleet Services. The Operations Division, in which this position is based, is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all public streets, alleys, sidewalks, parking facilities, streetlights, traffic control, forestry, public landscaping, snow/ice removal and the leaf collection program.

Required Qualifications of the Municipal Service Worker I Position:
- High School education or equivalent
- One (1) year previous work experience in general infrastructure maintenance or hand tools preferred
- Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain such within six (6) months of hire.
Successful candidates for the position will be required to successfully complete additional screening including, but not limited to the following: Background investigation, driver license check, DOT driving records check, employment and reference checks, pre-employment physical and drug screening.
