The City of Clearwater is seeking an Intern to assist our Public Utilities Wastewater Environmental Technologies team in a variety of projects.
Salary:
Interns may work for an hourly rate or unpaid intern volunteer.
Intern Working for an Hourly Rate:
Freshman or Sophomore College Student - $14.00/hr.
Junior, Senior, or Technical/Vocational College Student - $15.00/hr.
Graduate Level College Student - $16.00

- Assisting with wastewater treatment processes
- Work with experienced plant operators in daily tasks for training and to gain necessary skills such as monitoring equipment through SCADA.
- Shadow operators during routine facility walkthroughs
- Learning proper sample collection techniques for in-house control testing
- Maintenance and repairs: Support plant upkeep through routine maintenance tasks like cleaning equipment, calibrating instruments, and assisting with repairs under supervision, while cultivating practical skills in equipment longevity and operational efficiency.
- Gain valuable knowledge through hands on training covering operational practices, equipment usage, and maintenance procedures.
- Data analysis and reporting: Collect data from process areas or in house testing, data entry, learn how the data is used to prepare reports for regulatory agencies or internal use.
- Valid State Driver's License Required
- Currently enrolled college student (undergraduate, graduate level, technical/vocational). Preferred majors/concentrations include Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, or Biology.
- Knowledge and experience to successfully fulfill the duties and responsibilities listed above as this position will be ethical, hardworking, and a strong desire to learn. Experience can be personal or professional.
Salary : $27,040 - $52,000
