This is a non-supervisory position. General job function is to efficiently and effectively perform maintenance operations; including operating machinery and performing maintenance tasks.This is a temporary position ranging from 3-6 months with no minimum number of hours guaranteed; no leave or retirement benefits will be offered.NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of the safe and proper operation of equipment including safety standards to prevent hazardsThorough knowledge of the safe and proper operation of motor vehicles including provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle CodeSufficient skills to service and make minor repairs on equipment Sufficient knowledge of technical skills related to the work of maintenanceEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school graduate or equivalent preferred; ORAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIREDA Valid Class C Texas motor vehicle driver license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving recordENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDSPrimarily in an outdoor environment with the ability to operate indoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USEDVarious mowing equipment, tree trimming tools, chainsaw, weed eater, golf cart, shovel, pruning shears, wheelbarrow, tamper, post driver, irrigation tools and equipment, air tools, agricultural-type tractor, a gator-type four-wheel vehicle with spray rig/applicator, and various other tools needed to complete daily tasks.
