What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Center Building Foreman position at City of Cleveland Heights?

Tuesday - Saturday (1:30pm- 10:00pm)
This is a union supervisory position responsible for the daily maintenance, repairs, cleaning of the Cleveland Heights Community Center facility. This position supervises the daily maintenance staff and maintains the ice rink infrastructure.
- Oversees community center maintenance staff including scheduling, assigning work, training and recommending discipline
- Manages routine cleaning and building maintenance of the facility including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, etc
- Oversees the installation, maintenance and removal of skating ice. Oversees the maintenance of the ice rink infrastructure and equipment.
- Responsible Community Center rental and special event set ups and teardowns as needed.
- Oversee contractor repair work in the facility in conjunction with direct supervisor
- Able to make basic building repairs or work with supervisor to obtain appropriate contractor
- Able to safely operate equipment such as a zamboni, lift, snow removal equipment, lawn mower
- Able to manage payroll, vacation and sick time for maintenance staff and enter into appropriate software.
- Able to clearly communicate in person and in writing to recreation staff.
- Able use a computer. Limit skills needed – email, research vendors, products, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have an Ohio Commercial Driver's License (Class B) and excellent driving record.
- Must be in excellent physical condition to perform heavy manual labor outdoors in all climatic conditions
- Must be able to carry out and convey written and verbal instruction
