Airport IT Systems Operations Manager
(Title changed from Executive Assistant) Under administrative direction, is responsible for planning, managing, developing work rules, training, coordinating, and administering all activities and personnel of such staff positions as administration, citizen participation, research, and finance, and manages such personnel as are assigned to specific functions in the performance of the necessary duties. Performs other job-related duties as required.A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree is required. Four years of full time paid management or administrative experience is required. (Substitution: Two years of experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Oversight:
    • Strategically oversee the Microsoft Windows Environment, aligning it with the airport's operational objectives and technological advancements.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Ensure the continuous and highly reliable operation of Windows servers, workstations, and associated components critical to the airport's day-to-day functions.
  • Security Assurance:
    • Implement robust security measures to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of data within the Microsoft Windows Environment.
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Proactively optimize the performance of Windows-based systems, employing best practices and leveraging the latest advancements in technology.
  • Azure Security and Compliance:
  • Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Develop and implement monitoring solutions for infrastructure resources to proactively identify and address performance issues.
    • Continuously optimize infrastructure for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability.
  • Automation and Scripting:
    • Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline routine tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Support:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, IT, Business Management, or a closely related field; OR combination of education and related work experience with a total of 4 years
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems. 
  • Must be proficient in Active Director, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. Hyper-V, VMware) is also preferred.
  • Must be familiar with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment that fosters non-discrimination.
  • Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • A valid State of Ohio Driver License is required.
  • Must successfully complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 10-year fingerprint-base Criminal History Records Check and employment background check and Security Threat Assessment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Must be able to lift and carry thirty-five (35) pounds.
