Under administrative direction, performs architectural services required in the construction, alteration, and addition to buildings. Plans, supervises, and directs assigned personnel. Performs other job-related duties as required.ARCHITECTURE - A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from a National Architectural Accreditation Board (NAAB) accredited four year college or university is required. One year of full time paid experience as a registered Architect is required. Must be a registered Architect in the State of Ohio. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required. Must have a working knowledge of AutoCad 2-D and Microsoft Office Suite programs. A working knowledge of SharePoint and project planning software as well as good written and verbal communication skills are preferred. Good organization skills to handle multiple projects at the same time is highly desirable. BUILDING AND HOUSING - A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited four year college or university is required. Five years of full time paid experience as a registered Architect or Engineer is required. Experience as a Plans Examiner is preferred. Must be a registered Architect or Engineer and an interim or full-fledged Plans Examiner. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.Preferred Qualifications:
The Mayor’s Office of Capital Projects is building a team that will provide the planning, designing, construction, and the preservation of the City of Cleveland’s facilities and infrastructure. The candidate hired for the Chief Architect position will display a broad knowledge of principles and practice of architecture. Experience working with municipal, state, and/ or federal construction projects is desirable but not mandatory. A working knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft Project (or equivalent), Bluebeam or Adobe, and other project planning software is preferred.

- Able to lead and coordinate the development of assigned projects, on behalf of the City of Cleveland, under administrative direction.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to execute architectural services required for the programming, planning, design, coordination, and construction administration of capital projects either designed in-house or through outside consulting architects and engineers.
- Technical skill with an eye for design excellence, sustainability, and resilient maintainability.
- Strong management of project scope and costs who is a well-rounded and versatile professional.
- Able to work well within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary professional environment (architecture, engineering, and landscape architecture) that is able to assist stakeholders with navigating construction projects with calm leadership, and strong interpersonal communications skills.
