Under administrative direction, provides engineering advisory services related to divisional or departmental projects and activities. Performs other job-related duties as required. TRAFFIC ENGINEERING: A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Five years of full time paid engineering or traffic engineering experience is required. Must have a Professional Engineer's License or must obtain one within six months of the date of hire. Must be computer proficient and have a working knowledge of various related software packages. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required. WATER: A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field from an ABET accredited four year college or university (or equivalent as determined by the Ohio Board of Registration of Professional Engineering and Surveyors) is required, A Master's Degree is preferred. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Ohio or if PE license is in another state, you must have applied for an Ohio PE license at the time of hire and obtain it within four months of the date of hire. Ten years of full time paid experience working as a degreed engineer is required. Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office Suites and have a working knowledge of various software packages.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement traffic management plans and strategies to optimize safety for all road users and assess traffic flow and congestion. Conduct traffic impact assessments for new developments and provide recommendations for improvements. Design and optimize traffic signal timings and phasing plans to maximize safety and understand impacts on efficiency. Analyze traffic data and conduct analyses to identify areas for improvements in safety, multimodal connectivity, transit performance, and vehicular flow. Collaborate with transportation planners and engineers to develop active transportation solutions. Conduct safety assessments and recommend measures to improve pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicular safety. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented traffic management measures and make necessary adjustments. Design and review signage, striping, and signal plans for quick-build and large-scale capital roadway investments Inform local policies and engineering guidance for roadway design Stay updated on the latest traffic engineering practices, regulations, and technology advancements. Prepare technical reports and presentations Provide guidance and support to members of our team
