Job Summary
The Police Clerk-Dispatcher plays a crucial role in the law enforcement communication network, serving as the first point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls. This position requires a highly organized individual with strong analytical skills who can effectively communicate and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The dispatcher will coordinate incident responses, relay critical information to officers, and ensure public safety through efficient communication.
Responsibilities
Responsible for operating telephone and radio communications equipment for transmission and receipt of radio communications between agencies, personnel and the public.
Compiles data and maintains daily ,monthly, and annual records of incoming and outgoing messages, accident reports and investigative reports.
Handling of all walk-in customers requesting assistance or service.
Dispatch of emergency personnel within the City and outlying area.
Account for and record all petty cash transactions on each shift.
Receive and record bail bond forfeitures and fines for the courts.
Perform all clerical/secretarial duties to allow sworn personnel more time to patrol and handle investigations.
Processing and distribution of subpoenas, court referrals, citations and other legal documents relating to law enforcement.
Perform other functions as directed by the Chief of Police
Requirements
Graduation from High School or equivalent formal education in communications.
Successful completion of TIME System Operator Training by the State of Wisconsin within one year of hiring.
Successful completion of the probationary training period with the Clintonville Police Department
