What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Services Meal Delivery Driver position at City of Clovis, NM?
This position requires delivery of meals to consumers who are unable to pick up meals at Senior Services. The qualified applicant for the Senior Services Meal Delivery Driver will have availability between 10:30 and 2:30 pm with one – 15 minute lunch break, unless specified by the Director.

Licenses and Certificates:

- Package meal delivery when necessary.
- Record food temperatures of first meal and before the second to last meal is delivered and report these on the delivery time logs.
- Load the delivery vehicles (must be able to lift 50 pounds).
- Treat consumers courteously and respectfully.
- Notice condition of consumer for abuse, neglect, or conditions of illness. Make notation on route sheet.
- Upon entering a house, if consumer is in critical condition call 911. Wait for director to arrive before continuing the route. DO NOT aid the consumer, let emergency personnel handle the consumer.
- Clean delivery equipment daily and packaging area in baking room.
- NO PERSONAL CELL PHONE USAGE is allowed during delivery. During work hours driver is only allowed to call or receive calls from or to the director.
- Complete and log thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting all deficiencies.
- Maintain the appearance of the vehicle inside and outside as needed.
- Assist in sending out monthly menus and newsletters to consumers.
- Assist in performing client assessments and reassessments on home delivered, congregate and recreation members.
- Provides assistance to congregate meal participants by serving/bringing meals to those that are unable to carry their food trays due to physical restrictions.
- Acts as a backup to the luncheon registrar, dining room attendant and kitchen aide.
- HS Diploma or GED (not sure if you want this or not)
- Experience recording temperatures or other information in a daily log.
- Ability to work with all types of individuals with courtesy and respect.
Licenses and Certificates:
- Equivalent or higher of a New Mexico Class “D” driver’s license, with a good driving record.
- CPR/First Aid Certification or be able to obtain within (1) one year.
- Other certifications as required by NMDOT.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity of services.
- Position is subject to drug testing in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and City of Clovis policies.
- This is a “Safety Sensitive” position and passing a DOT drug test is a condition of employment.
- Practice good personal hygiene.
- Practice good personal hygiene in the kitchen to include wearing of gloves and hairnets as required by Department of Health.
