Grant Coordinator
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Wage Grade 17 / $18.01 - 30.51 plus a generous benefit package including PTO, 11 paid holidays, Pension, Insurance, and more.
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, this position will provide advanced-level professional work in centralizing citywide grants. This position is responsible for researching, identifying, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals and contracts for all City departments. The Grant Coordinator will collaborate and establish effective communication with City departments and key stakeholders to keep them informed of grant status and activity. This position will act as the key liaison between the city, grant agencies, and project teams.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts solicitation and award processes, including data collection, application creation and submission, programmatic and fiscal oversight of awarded projects, reporting and regulatory compliance, records maintenance and internal financial coordination of funds, donations, and sponsored programs. Monitors and coordinates the financial and administrative operations of the citywide grants program, with primary areas of responsibility including grant writing, researching, and administering grants and projects. May oversee any grant services or activities performed by a third-party contractor as needed for specialty grants. Oversees the implementation of grant programs for all departments in the City. An employee in this classification performs a variety of duties in preparing grant applications and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with specific regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates with the Finance Dept. to ensure we are tracking grant expenditures in a way that meets auditing requirements.
- Research potential funding sources, identifies relevant grant opportunities, and develops comprehensive grant proposals.
- Monitors grant contract compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including reporting requirements and financial accountability.
- Facilitates and initiates tasks essential to the execution of all grants.
- Conducts comprehensive reviews of grant applications, awards, and all other contractual agreements to ensure conformity and compliance with internal and external policies, procedures and guidelines, and federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Administers and monitors all grants, contracts, and other agreements.
- Coordinates and establishes effective communication among grant stakeholders ensuring all parties are informed of grant status and activity.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Qualifications
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or three (3) years of experience in grant management or public administration. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Has the ability to use the practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, practical algebra, geometry and statistical analysis.

Motor Coordination: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes in using automated office equipment; to operate motor vehicles.
Manual Dexterity: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items, office equipment, control knobs, switches, etc. Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
Color Discrimination: Requires the ability to differentiate colors and shades of color.
Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people in giving and receiving instructions. The worker needs to relate to people in situations involving more than giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with persons acting under stress.

Knowledge of Job: Has considerable knowledge in the field of grant administration, particularly as they relate to the local government level. Has thorough knowledge of ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional standards and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
