What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Technician position at City of Coconut Creek?
Performs intermediate-level technical or specialized work in the Finance and Administrative Services Department. Performs routine technical and administrative work in procurement and assists departments and other procurement staff with the procurement of goods and services based on established processes and procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude. Position exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques.

- Assists with the purchase of citywide goods and services, including conducting research on available contracts, obtaining quotes, summarizing findings, etc.
- Assists with administering the contracts for the City's Procurement Card (P-Card) program, copy machines, water coolers, office supplies and coffee machine contracts
- Processes requests for the P-Card program and monitors P-Card purchases for compliance with established policies and procedures
- Compiles departmental designation of City-owned property as surplus via resolution to the City Commission; arranges for auction / trade-in of goods, coordinates distribution of sold property, and maintains records of all revenue received from disposition of surplus items
- Reviews periodically auctioneer options to ensure the City is receiving the highest revenue
- Updates and maintains an electronic bidding system and supplier registrations and assists vendors with technical issues
- Assists other procurement staff with the development and research of vendor lists, quotes, specifications, reference checks, insurance certificates and related information for assigned procurements
- Assists with vendor training, contract administration training, and contract debriefing
- Routes contracts for signature
- Assists with contract amendments, modifications, change orders, and extensions
- Reviews Citywide purchases to ensure compliance with established internal control policies and procedures
- Updates requisition approval tables in the system as directed by the Procurement Manager or designee
- Monitors and responds to Citizen Requests
- Provides research, tracking and correspondence related to public record requests for procurement
- Reviews and updates the content for the procurement page on the City's website and intranet site
- Prints and distributes purchase orders to appropriate departments
- Provides administrative support as required, including composes, inputs, and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, boilerplates (in accordance with legislative changes as directed by the Procurement Manager or designee) and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness
- Completes assigned work within deadlines in accordance with directives, City policies, standards and prescribed procedures
- Performs related duties as assigned and/or required
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) or more years of experience in procurement, accounting or finance related duties, preferably with a governmental or non- profit agency or with an agency that provides governmental accounting services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity. Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors.
