Come work for the City of Coeur d'Alene Streets Department-up to 5 months with possible full-time future openings.
The City of Coeur d'Alene Streets and Engineering Department maintains over 250 center lane miles of road and right-of-way including asphalt and pothole repair, 64 signalized intersections, 12,000 street signs, and 500 permanent pavement markings. Other maintenance responsibilities performed include the Drainage Utility maintenance (swale restoration, hard pipe cleaning and videoing), sidewalk repair and replacement to bring into Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance as well as support of the many Special Events such as 4th of July, Car d'lane, Ironman, Street Fair.
This position may turn into full-time benefited opportunities.
This position must maintain flexible work hours and may work weekends and holidays to perform work and respond to emergencies. The position works in an outdoor environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions, traffic, open trenches and hazards involving the use of power tools, light and heavy construction equipment, hazardous chemicals, and asphalt fumes.
Advantages:

- During summer months, Street Maintenance Workers work four 10-hour shifts, unless individual assignments require an alternate schedule.
