Must be enrolled in and on track to graduate from a four-year college or university with a degree in Marketing, Public Relations and / or related fields.
A successful candidate will play an active role in the City of College Park’s existing operational success. The purpose of the position is for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our team and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies. Independent judgment is required to identify, select and apply the most appropriate of available guidelines and procedures as well as interpret precedents. This position is responsible for collaborating with teams at each of our facilities along with key area stakeholders and partners, City of College Park staff, as well as key vendors to create impactful marketing initiatives across a variety of platforms and mediums.
Responsibilities :
Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns.
Assist with daily administrative duties.
Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web).
Design and present new social media campaign ideas.
Prepare detailed promotional presentations.
Help with the planning and hosting of marketing events.
Research and evaluate competitor marketing and digital content.
Contribute to the creation of mock-ups, email campaigns, and social media content.
Help distribute marketing materials.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :
Knowledge of marketing strategies, including continuing education of new marketing tactics and tools.
Familiarity with consumer psychology and buying habits.
Familiarity with modern office procedures, practices, and equipment.
Familiarity in public relations, social media, event marketing and communications.
Ability to quickly learn and process information.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Ability to maintain sustained attention to detail and to work under the pressure of rigid deadlines.
Ability to work independently from general instructions and broad work expectations.
Ability to organize work for maximum efficiency.
Must be able to use tact and courtesy in dealing with the public.
Must be able to analyze and evaluate procedures and work processes and to exercise appropriate judgment in establishing priorities and work methods.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to deal effectively and courteously with others, to work independently and in team settings.
Must be able to type or to use a personal computer with word processing and related software and to enter and retrieve information with reasonable speed and accuracy.
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds, standing and / or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Additional Requirements :
Be enrolled in and on track to graduate from a four-year college or university with a degree in Marketing, Public Relations and / or related fields.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Experience in communicating with diverse communities, and in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
