The City of College Park seeks an experienced professional to manage its Senior Services Program. This management-level position reports to the Director of Youth, Family, and Senior Services and leads a team of 7 staff.
Job Overview
The Seniors Program Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the City's Seniors Program while providing support, resources, and advocacy to senior citizens.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead administration, management, and strategic planning for the city's seniors programs.
- Recruit and hire qualified staff; maintain best practices through supervision and professional development.
- Assist with the management of departmental processes and protocols.
- Serve as a liaison between the city and assigned resident boards or committees.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be highly committed to providing services to the city's older adult population (ages 62 and above). The Seniors Program Manager should also have excellent communication skills, an empathetic demeanor, and clinical experience dealing with seniors.
The required qualifications are:
- A bachelor's degree in social work or related degree, with a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience as an administrator and supervisor and/or any combination of education and experience that qualifies a candidate for the position.
- Licensed or license eligible as an LBSW, LMSW, or LCSW-C or a Certified Senior Advisor is preferred.
