Custodial Supervisor
The City of Collinsville is currently seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Custodial Supervisor at the Gateway Convention Center. Job Responsibilities
This position is responsible for performing a variety of housekeeping duties including vacuuming, mopping, surface cleaning, dusting and all aspects of floor care and performs janitorial, custodial, and/or security tasks to maintain clean and safe buildings and grounds other duties include, but not limited to:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Establish and maintain high cleaning standards throughout the convention center, including meeting rooms, public areas, restrooms, and offices.
- Manage housekeeping supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective utilization.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and adherence to standards.
- Create and manage housekeeping schedules to optimize staffing levels and meet event requirements.
- Address housekeeping issues and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules and address any concerns.
- Provide ongoing training to housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the entire part-time operations staff as needed and/or directed by the Director of Operations.
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Candidates must pass a criminal background investigation and have a valid driver's license.
Previous experience in housekeeping supervision or management is preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to handle, feel, or control objects. The employee is frequently to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary and Benefits
- This is a non-exempt, hourly position starting at $45,593.60 per year (eligible for overtime and compensation time).
