The City of Collinsville is actively seeking dedicated applicants to apply for the full-time position of Operations Supervisor. In this integral role you will report directly to the Director of Operations at Gateway Convention Center, located at One Gateway Drive, Collinsville, IL.
The position of Operations Supervisor entails responsibility for overseeing high-volume, deadline-critical workflow. The position requires a detail-oriented person with a strong discipline in quality control, good work ethic, strong experience in managing multiple employees in multiple locations and who is quick to study in learning processes and practical day-to-day facility management activities. Duties include but are not limited to training, supervising full-time and part-time employees, collaborating with the Director of Operations, in-house contractors, and Event Coordinators to facilitate room set-up and specifications, and operating and maintaining facility equipment and systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The role of Operations Supervisor demands a candidate with a comprehensive skill set to effectively manage high-volume, time-sensitive workflows. To be considered, candidates must possess the following:
- One (1) year of experience in supervising employees.
- One (1) year of experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities and associated with positions such as banquet captain, exhibitor services, stagehand, production technician, janitor, or custodian; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to walk, run, stand, sit, and complete a variety of motor skills.
- Ability to walk and/or stand on concrete for much of your shift.
- Ability to bend to the floor and reach overhead.
- Ability to lift and carry 30-70 pounds regularly to chest height.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended work shifts, and extended number of days as dictated by operational needs.
This position requires that incumbents wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, or other designated safety attire and equipment in designated areas of risk. Must be able to work in various conditions such as outdoors, inclement weather, low light, at heights of 40'.
Must complete training and obtain certification in First Aid/CPR/AED by the end of the probationary period. Certifications must be maintained for the duration of employment in this classification.

- This is a non-exempt position, hourly position starting at $21.92/hour (overtime and compensation time eligible)
