What are the responsibilities and job description for the Umpire position at City of Collinsville?
UMPIRE
**This is a seasonal position**
The City of Collinsville is accepting applications for Baseball and Softball Umpires. These positions will officiate during the Collinsville Baseball and Softball League home games, maintain standards of play, and ensure that game rules are observed. Umpires will also assist with basic field operations and maintenance, customer service, and equipment inventory.
Minimum Qualifications
15 years of age or older.
Basic knowledge in baseball and softball with pervious experience working with youth athletics.
Ability to penalize and diffuse unsporting behavior as games rules allow.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Previous training in concussion awareness, mandated reporting of child abuse and neglect, and CPR certification (or the ability to achieve certification by the start date).
Work in staggered shift assignments as necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work in hot, cold, wet and/or other unpleasant outdoor conditions.
Work in a loud, fast-paced environment.
