Job Type: Full-time; Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00PM - 5:00PM. This position requires you are available for on-call and/or overtime to assist with emergencies/ disaster situations.
Hourly Salary: $28.54 - $34.27
Pre-Employment Requirements: The background check process for this position includes being fingerprinted. Fingerprints will be used to check the FBI's criminal history records.
As a Skilled Maintenance Technician II, you will:
- Perform skilled maintenance and technical duties, including plumbing, construction, installation, repair, and general maintenance of buildings and systems
- Use in-depth plumbing expertise to troubleshoot, design, and implement maintenance solutions
- Read and interpret plans and drawings; assess projects, and design and layout work
- Complete tasks efficiently using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Estimate and requisition time, materials, and equipment needed for projects
- Conduct field inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with City policies
- Provide technical support to supervisors, lead team members, and respond to public inquiries courteously
- Remain on-call for emergencies and ensure adherence to workplace safety practices

Relevant Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- A plumbing technical facility maintenance craft discipline with use of analytical judgement and decision –making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization
- Plumbing troubleshooting maintenance principles
- Maintenance methods and techniques related to plumbing best practices
- Equipment, materials, chemicals and supplies used in facilities maintenance
- Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
Ability to:
- Stay current on new trends, innovations and technology specific to facilities maintenance
- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Work individually and/or in a team environment
- Possess or obtain Backflow Inspection and Testing Certification(s) within 1 year of hire
- Possess or obtain a Mechanical IV license withing 1 year of hire to be able to work on boiler gas piping
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, supplemented by specialized training related to a specific facilities craft discipline
- Experience: Three years of full-time responsible experience in facilities maintenance

- Plumbing maintenance and troubleshooting experience
- Backflow Inspection and Testing Certification(s) or formal training in multiple areas of facilities maintenance
- Hold a Mechanical IV license, enabling work on boiler gas piping
- Experience working in multiple facilities disciplines
- Prior experience leading a facilities maintenance crew
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 20-50 lbs. occasionally; 10-25 lbs. frequently; or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly.
