Technical Support Analyst I
The City of Colorado Springs’ IT Department is seeking a Technical Support Analyst I to join our team. This is an entry-level position responsible for providing essential technical support, troubleshooting, and system maintenance to ensure the efficient operation of IT services across the organization. - Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide support to walk-in customers, answering IT-related questions and troubleshooting basic issues. Assist with re-installing operating system images, replacing broken hardware, and ensuring all systems are updated and functioning properly before returning them to end users.
- System Imaging & Configuration: Build and maintain operating system images based on department needs. Ensure images are properly configured, patched, and compatible with different hardware models.
- Equipment Management & Disposal: Replace, image, and configure desktops and laptops for users according to schedule. Retrieve and properly document old equipment and ensure hard drives are securely wiped before disposal.
- Software & Hardware Maintenance: Repair computer hardware and software, install applications, and back up or restore user profiles. Work with vendors for replacement parts or warranty repairs.
- Special Projects & Training: Assist with new product launches, document processes, train IT staff on new technologies, and collaborate with vendors to meet user needs.

Relevant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Basic troubleshooting techniques for computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
IT support best practices and customer service techniques.
Ability to:
Provide hands-on technical support in a fast-paced IT environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues independently.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
Manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize service requests
- Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- Experience: One year of full-time professional experience in IT support or related field.
- Certification: Possess, or obtain within six months of hire, a CompTIA Security certification
