The purpose of this job is to perform semi-skilled technical labor to update and maintain Geographical Informational System (GIS) address database.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
- Creates and assigns addresses for new projects in GIS database.
- Draws road centerlines to accurately represent centerlines data in multiple feature classes.
- Reviews plats and plans and provides feedback to developers to assist with approval process.
- Works with customers to resolve issues or concerns.
- Performs field work and address verification; investigates issues, designs plans to resolve, and addresses departmental concerns.
- Edits and updates existing addresses to meet addressing standards.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years experience in geographic information systems, geography, planning, engineering, or related field.
Licenses or Certifications
- Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
Knowledge of:
- GIS toolsets and document review/planning software.
- Building plans, addressing processes and complexities, and legal implications of land use.
- Road types and uses.
Skill in:

- Read plats and plans.
- Provide high levels of effective customer service.
