The purpose of this job is to perform skilled work operating medium and heavy motorized equipment and commercial vehicles.

- Utilizes knowledge and equipment to accomplish given tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operates a wide variety of motorized equipment, including heavy construction equipment, and hand/power tools.
- Installs, operates, repairs, and maintains tools and equipment.
- Loads and hauls materials and supplies; maintains inventory and stocks vehicles.
- Performs skilled labor tasks following established procedures.
- Maintains safe work environment and equipment.
- Adheres to safety standards.
- Documents work performed.
- Provides customer service.
- Assists other departments as needed.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No supervisory authority. Work does require providing guidance and training to others.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in construction or operation of heavy equipment
Licenses or Certifications
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Division specific CDL endorsements within 6 months of hire.
- Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification.

permanent residence within 50 road miles of City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO, within 90 days of hire.
