What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Attendant for Parks and Rec Golf Courses 2025 (Temporary Part-Time Position) position at City of Columbia, MO?
The facility attendant will report to the on-duty Course Manager, Recreation Specialist and Recreation Supervisor. Attendant will: be required to utilize a computer software program, Golf Trac, to sell daily green fees, punch cards, and annual passes; be responsible for the preparation and sell of concession items; provide correct and courteous answers to telephone and verbal inquiries; be responsible for all monies collected during their shift; keep clubhouse clean at all times; be responsible for removing trash and washing the interior, exterior, and windshields of golf carts; ensuring golf carts are properly charged or filled with gas and sand bottles are filled with sand; picking golf balls off driving range and ensuring golf balls are properly cleaned for future use; work in adverse weather (rain, hot, and cold) conditions; handle or make applicable referral of all complaints/problems; interpret and apply established policies; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; and maintain an appearance or demeanor that projects a positive, professional image.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must: be at least 18 years of age, have experience with computers; have some golf knowledge; be able to count change; have or obtain a City of Columbia Food Handler Permit and City of Columbia Alcohol Server Certificate within 30 days of hire; excellent customer service skills; be able to work independently; attend staff meetings; follow established dress code; be willing to work in wet, hot, or cold conditions; be able to lift 25-50 lb. water jugs and range ball baskets; be willing and able to work all assigned shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Special Instructions to Applicants
Golf courses are available for play 12 months of the year. Due to mild winter temperatures and less percipitation, on average the courses are open 300-315 days. Part-Time employees do not qualify for sick, holiday or vacation pay. Pay checks are issued bi-weekly.
