The purpose of this job is to perform manual work maintaining city transit vehicles, including minor repairs, monitoring fluids, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
- Observes safety standards and regulations.
- Maintains accurate mileage in data system.
- Checks and maintains fluid levels and ensures vehicles are properly fueled.
- Cleans and washes transit vehicles and equipment to prepare vehicles for use.
- Performs routine route maintenance, including removing trash, washing shelters and concrete pads, and mowing and weed eating designated areas.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
Licenses or Certifications
- Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no air brake restriction.
- Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification.

- Position has no fiscal responsibility.
