Job Description Summary
Individual will : be involved in leadership work at an assigned recreational area; will supervise, instruct and participate in activities; assist in organizing recreational activities; will responsible for keeping accurate attendance records; will be responsible for equipment and supplies used in the assigned area; will ensure safety of patrons and enforce rules of the facility; provide correct, courteous answers to verbal inquires; and perform other duties as assigned. Employees in this position work under supervision, and their work is subject to frequent inspection and review by supervisory personnel through conferences and attendance reports. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must : be at least 19 years of age, possess and maintain a valid Missouri Driver’s license; have the desire to work with kids of all ages; be able instruct at-risk / low income children and youth in various recreational activities; be able to assist with the planning of recreational activities; have knowledge of the principles, rules, materials and equipment required for a variety of recreational activities; have the ability to give routine instructions and resolve disputes with firmness and impartiality; be able to communicate with people of all age groups and large groups; be able to run, jump, bend and stoop to participate in athletic activities or carry supplies; attend mandatory staff meetings; follow dress code policy; have the ability to work independently; and be reliable.
