Water Distribution Operator Job Summary
The City of Columbiana is seeking qualified candidates to fill the positions of Water Distribution Operator, Water Distribution Operator I, and Water Distribution Operator II. As a member of our water department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of clean drinking water to our community.Key Responsibilities:
- Performing routine maintenance tasks on water distribution systems.
- Responding to emergency situations, such as pipe breaks or water main leaks.
- Collaborating with other departments to resolve issues related to water distribution.
- Providing excellent customer service to our citizens.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in water distribution or a related field; certifications such as Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (WWTP) or Water Treatment Plant Operator (WTPO) may be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of water distribution systems, safety protocols, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
