As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you'll partner with departments in this dynamic role to comprehend their hiring needs and create innovative, diverse recruitment strategies. You'll focus on finding exceptional talent, personalizing the candidate experience, streamlining onboarding, and fostering an empowering and collaborative workplace culture.

Although not required for success in this role, we highly value bilingual skills in English and Spanish, along with public speaking and presentation experience.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.

The hiring range is $67,962.42 - $75,513.80 / Annually

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree and two years of progressively responsible experience in a human resources environment. An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Knowledge of :

  • Full cycle recruiting processes
  • Human Resources methods and best practices
  • Federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing employers and employees
  • Equal Employment Opportunity regulations, Equal Pay Act, and Americans with Disability laws, and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
  • Operations, functions, and scope of authority of all City departments
  • Human Resources and employment law terminology
  • Database reporting tools

Skill in :

  • Spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proper word usage
  • Utilizing applicant tracking systems
  • Navigating multiple decision makers and adapting recruitments to meet various hiring manager needs
  • Applying problem-solving and critical thinking to modernize hiring processes
  • Ability to :

  • Ensure fair hiring practices and candidate recommendations for hire
  • Learn and apply new skills that promote excellent performance
  • Use independent judgment and discretion to perform tasks in routine and non-routine situations and use emotional intelligence to navigate sensitive situations
  • Maintain high level of professionalism and teamwork in the absence of supervision
  • Speak before various audiences both in-person and in a hybrid / virtual environment with poise, voice control, and confidence
  • Prepare documents conforming to regulatory standards
  • Work independently without specific instruction and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in person, over the phone, and in writing with individuals of varying social, cultural, economic, professional, and educational backgrounds

    Process Overview :

    Apply Today : We ask that you complete and submit an online application AND INCLUDE A RESUME AND COVER LETTER, which will be used to screen for minimum qualifications (MQs) and determine starting pay in accordance with the provision of the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

    Qualification Review : HR will screen applications for minimum qualifications after the posting closes.

    Application Review : Applications for candidates that meet minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring manager, who will review and evaluate application materials.

    PAID TIME-OFF BENEFITS :

  • Holidays : 12 paid holidays each year with the addition of an 8-hour Floating Holiday (in addition to the Floating Holiday that can be earned by participating in the Wellness Program).
  • General Leave : Leave banks are granted to employees after six months of full-time employment. General Leave may be used for vacations, personal business, illness, or other reasons as requested by the employee and approved by his / her supervisor.
  • Other Paid Time Off : Jury Duty, Injury Leave, and Military leave are also available to employees.
  • ADDITIONAL BENEFITS :

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP ) : We provide a confidential Employee Assistance Program to help support you and your family on any issue of concern. Eight private counseling sessions are available on a range of needs including, but not limited to marital issues, parenting concerns, grief counseling, supervisor issues, and drug and alcohol abuse.
  • Tuition Reimbursement : The City provides a tuition reimbursement program that reimburses qualified educational expenses.
  • Eligibility for Pay Increases : Employees are eligible for a pay increase during their annual appraisal following a successful evaluation. Pay increases do not come at the time of the six-month introductory evaluation.
  • Employee Home Ownership Program : To encourage employees to reside within the City limits of Commerce City, we may provide a secured loan for the down payment and / or closing cost assistance on a home in Commerce City. The employee must meet all City criteria as well as first mortgage underwriting criteria.
  • Personal Computer Employee Purchase Program : To encourage the development of employee computer skills, the City offers an interest-free loan to you for the purchase of computer hardware (including a Desktop or Laptop) and software. The employee must have successfully completed their 6-month Introductory Period for eligibility.
  • Recreation Center Membership : Employees and family members are eligible for a membership to the Commerce City Recreation Center for $5.00 per person per year.
  • Golf Course Green Fees : Employees can play the City's award-winning Buffalo Run Golf Course at a rate of $9.00 for 9-holes or $18.00 for 18-holes. Employees can also purchase golf merchandise at discounted prices.
