TYPICAL WORK SHIFT/SCHEDULE: Variable schedule. 4 on, 2 off.
STARTING ANNUAL SALARY:
Academy-Non-Certified Officers - $61,672 Annually, ($29.65/hr)
Lateral-Certified Officers* - $64,771.20 - $72,779.20 Annually, ($31.14 to $34.99/hr)
Maximum Annual Salary - Currently $97,457.78* This annual rate reflects longevity, special services and obtaining Master Police Officer status.
SPECIAL DUTY: assignments are available to non-probationary employees with the exception of one or two specialties.
Academy or N-C Officers will be subject to MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS as stated below.
Lateral or Certified Officers* must have completed two years of certified police experience at the time of hiring. Job Summary:Employees in this position are assigned to a variety of duties in the City Police Department. Each duty is related to protecting life and property and securing the well-being of the citizens of the City of Concord. The position is responsible for the enforcement of ordinances, state and federal statutes, and other regulations for which the Police Department is responsible. Police Officers are routinely assigned to perform duties in patrol, investigations, drug enforcement, or youth services. The department practices a community-based policing operation. All officers are expected to be able to perform a wide range of duties. An incumbent in this position may be designated "Master Police Officer."
