TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary/Seasonal 2025
TYPICAL SALARY RANGE: $19.80 to $20.90 hourly, depending on years of experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
Applicants must be dependable, enjoy working with youth and families and have good communication and problem solving skills. All applicants must have current Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid and Infant & Child CPR and WSI certification (or ability to attain before start of the season). Prior aquatic experience is desired and have the ability to supervise a summer aquatic staff of approximately thirty employees. All applicants must be 18 years of age and will be required to pass a Criminal Background Check.
Examples of Duties
Works under the general supervision of the Parks & Recreation Assistant Director.
Responsible for the supervision, safety and accident prevention of all patrons.
Responsible for insuring the pool area and facilities are cleaned on a daily basis according to established maintenance procedures.
Exercises supervision over pool staff on a day to day basis.
Arranges staff schedules to insure proper coverage at all times.
Assists in programming of swimming lessons, outside swim groups and special events.
Completes all required paperwork in a timely manner such as time sheets, attendance reports and maintenance reports.
Administers first aid and CPR when necessary.
Follows established procedures regarding accidents, discipline or mechanical problems.
Follows and enforces department rules and regulations.
Fills in as Lifeguard or WSI as needed
Directs all suggestions from the public to Supervisor. Strives to establish positive public relations for the Recreation Department and the City of Concord.
May be required to lift items that weigh more than 25 lbs.
Must attend in-service training and staff meetings. Employee must be available weekdays between 12:00 pm -8:00 pm, Saturdays and Sunday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and July 4th.
