Job Summary
The Chief of Police serves as the highest-ranking officer in the police department, responsible for overseeing all law enforcement operations and ensuring the safety and security of the community. Duties
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and programs to enhance public safety.
- Oversee daily operations of the police department, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and train police personnel to promote professional development and effective law enforcement practices.
- Engage with community members to build relationships and address public safety concerns.
- Manage criminal investigations, including overseeing surveillance operations and ensuring thorough case management.
- Coordinate with other law enforcement agencies on matters related to criminal activity, immigration law, and emergency response.
- Respond to critical incidents and provide leadership during emergencies or high-stress situations.
- Ensure proper handling of animals in accordance with local laws and regulations when necessary.
- Conduct regular assessments of departmental performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills with a strong ability to manage personnel effectively.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in conflict management is preferred.
- Experience in law enforcement with a thorough understanding of criminal investigation techniques.
- Knowledge of immigration law as it pertains to local enforcement practices is advantageous.

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
