The Facilities Division is responsible for the daily operations, preventive maintenance, security, remodeling and long term maintenance programs of the 16 major facilities owned by the City and spaces leased by the City. Total square footage of these facilities is about 1 million square feet. The major facilities include the City Center, Civic Center, Police Department, CTN Studio, East and West Water Plant, Public Works, Recycling Center, 3 Fire Stations, Bunker Hills Golf Course, Ice Arena and 4 Park Shelters.
- This position will work 4 days a week, and up to 24 hours.
- Hours will be scheduled during the operating hours of 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Hiring Range: $18.44 - $19.51/hr
Salary Range: $18.44/hr - $22.98/hr

The Building Support supports the Facilities Division to ensure smooth operations by effectively keeping the facilities safe, clean, and efficient. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
- Maintains the City Facilities by performing preventive maintenance, different room setups. General basic repairs and preventative maintenance in all City buildings.
- Ability to perform snow removal of sidewalks, applying salt where needed and ensuring that all walkways are maintained in appropriate manner.
- Provides service to customers for effective and efficient execution of City events (i.e. set-up and breakdown of facilities, meeting and event set-up, and assembly); provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for all community guests.
- Assists Facilities Engineers and Technicians with monitoring equipment to ensure that the building’s systems perform efficiently and safely.
- Maintains and improves the appearance and operation of City facilities by performing minor repairs.
- Supports division cross-function initiatives by developing skills, applying technical knowledge, and assisting with projects.
- Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
- Maintain positive professional working relationships with all staff levels, other jurisdictions and outside agencies and the general public.
- Performs essential position duties and responsibilities under the working conditions and physical demands described herein.
- Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations and citizen customers.
- Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated.
- Ability to operate floors scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, saws, planer, band saws, carpentry tools and other equipment as needed.
- Extensive knowledge to make repairs to walls, doors, windows, carpeting, plumbing, electrical, masonry and other building repairs.
- Extensive knowledge of carpentry tools, including but not limited to, electric meters, jigs, skill saws, etc. and ability to perform carpentry duties as required.
- Ability to communicate both written and verbal.
- Ability to work night shift and weekends.
- Ability to work cooperatively with City personnel, external vendors and the public.
- Ability to perform duties with tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Ability to be detail oriented and follow through with tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
Previous building maintenance experience
In-person customer services experience
Basic computer skills
Valid driver’s license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience performing building maintenance/carpentry duties in a work environment and equipment experience preferred.
Availability to work evenings and/or weekends.
