Under general direction of the Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Specialist, this position is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Farmers Market. Provide check-in and directions for weekly vendors and sponsors at the market.Ensure that the market remains organized and safe throughout the event.Customer Service: Greet customers and provide information on behalf of the City and Market.Answer customer questions. Product Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the vendors and what is being offered at the market.Knowledge of the benefits of a farmers market.Promotion: Assist in marketing efforts in collaboration with the Communications & Marketing Division by taking pictures and documenting information at each market. Help promote any special events and offerings to customers.Monitor inventory levels of materials, flyers and brochures for restocking if needed.Assist with collecting data at each market and reporting back to supervisory staff.Clean-Up: Pack up and cleaning of the City booth after the market closes. Check grounds for any issues and needed cleaning.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to the following: Minimum 18 years of age.Knowledge in operations of a Farmers Market or similar special event.Exceptional communication skills.Friendly demeanor with customer service skills.Ability to lift and set up tables, tents, and signage.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a Farmers Market setting.Coursework, classes or training in special events.Experience working with the public and providing customer service.Experience working with diverse populations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
