General Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining and balancing chemicals. Ensuring both City Park and South Park pools are cleaned. Reporting chemical levels, chemical inventory and repairs.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Works under the general supervision of the Recreation Specialist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the Recreation Specialist in administering the swimming pool as requested, including but not limited to; determining work procedures and expediting workflow.
Diagnoses maintains, and provides preventive maintenance work on the City and South Park Pool, water systems, filter systems, dolphins, and pumps.
Monitors handles and installs all chemicals for both swimming pools.
Maintains the proper chemical balance for pools.
Maintains the PH and Chlorine Values for good water quality.
Performs cleanings of the swimming Pools.
Performs minor repairs to swimming pools.
Responsible for organizing and maintaining inventory of chemicals, parts and supplies as needed.
Logging and reporting equipment faults or water quality problems to the Recreation Specialist.
Evaluates existing situations, and makes decisions concerning hazardous weather conditions which may arise ensuring that the pool is properly staffed at all times.
Explains and enforces basic pool rules and sets a positive example for patrons. Maintains and enforces pool safety.
Assists with maintenance of the city's swimming pool(s); monitors and maintains pool filtration system; monitors pool water chemistry through testing of water samples; adjusts chemistry as needed to maintain standards.
Must submit a weekly report to the Recreation Specialist.
Requires staff to submit reports on accidents, damage to facilities and equipment, problems among staff, and complaints from facility users. Ensures reports are thoroughly completed and forwarded to the Recreation Specialist.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Previous experience as a pool manager, lifeguard, water safety instructor, or any other previous aquatics experience preferred. Previous experience in managing others both directly or indirectly.
Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License by date of hire.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and customers.
Ability to create and manage reports through Recreation Specialist.
Have the skill to give swimming instructions and assist in all swimming programs as directed.
Ability to be responsible for keeping the building and grounds in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition.
Ability to clean the swimming pool, deck, scum gutters, dressing rooms, showers, entrance to the pool, and other areas as required.
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. Must be able to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. including weekends and holidays.
Selection Guidelines:
Formal applications, rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference check; job-related tests may be required. Must pass physical demands for the department.

A wet/dry vacuum, Robotic Pool Cleaner, cash register, phone, copy/fax machine, computer (MS Office)
