Job Duties and Responsibilities
This internship is for the Recruitment Division of the Human Resources Department. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in full cycle recruitment to include : sourcing candidates, interviewing and testing applicants, verifying references and on-boarding of new hires.
Assist in reviewing job applications and resumes to help identify qualified candidates.
Conducts preliminary employment interviews to determine eligibility of applicants.
Will assist with the review and approval of hiring paperwork.
Assists with conducting reference checks and prepares conditional and final job offer letters to applicants.
Assists with the scheduling of screenings and required examinations.
There will also be opportunities to assist in a variety of special projects.
Performs other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
Knowledge of general human resources practices is important to carry out the varied functions of this position.
Ability to interact with City personnel with tact and diplomacy is essential.
Good communication skills.
Good customer service skills and organizational skills are required.
Ability to work a minimum of 2 days a week and a minimum of 10 hours a week.
