Job Duties and Responsibilities
Coral Gables operates under a commission/manager form of government and is well known for its active and involved citizenry. The Part-Time Camp Coordinators will be assigned to one of the following recreation faculties: Biltmore Tennis Center, Venetian Pool or the War Memorial Youth Center. This seasonal, part-time position is under the supervision of the Recreation Specialist and/or the facility of assignment Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor. The Part-Time Camp Coordinator is responsible for the safe supervision of children, enforcement of rules, completion of reports, motivation of camp counselor and participates in activities, field trips and special events for children of various ages in a recreation camp setting. Coordinators may also be called upon to assist with special events, answer inquires from the public and provide information on recreation events and activities.
This is a seasonal position that is scheduled to begin this Summer.
This Position will require the attendance of an orientation on Friday, May 30, 2025 and Saturday, May 31, 2025 to move forward in the process.
Please note that employees selected for this position may be assigned to any of the following facilities: War Memorial Youth Center, Venetian Pool, Adult Activities Center or Tennis Center.
Qualifications
Must be 17 years of age or older at the time of hire.
Completion of two years of college course work in recreation, education, psychology or a related field.
Completion of and certification in approve DCF childcare course preferred.
Two years experience working with children of various ages in a camp or after-school setting.
Certification in an approved First Aid & CPR course preferred.
Possession of a valid Florida driver's license
