- Provides assistance with coordination of community outreach events which may include assistance with promotional materials, working with Communications and Marketing staff; provides administrative support. May assist with the ongoing Make a Call Make a Difference program by presenting materials and assist with development of marketing strategies.
- Assist the Community Involvement division with safety presentations for seniors, homeowner groups, schools, etc. including reaching out to organizations and responding to organization requests, prepares materials for the staff member who will give the presentation, assistance with promoting the event, provides administrative support.
- Coordinates and provides tour of City facilities (Police, Fire, etc.) for community groups and organizations in response to requests received. Schedule various staff members from Police and Fire who will present to the group.
- Performs a variety of routine to complex administrative functions, e.g., date entry, typing, report processing and documentation proofing.
- Performs a variety of essential record keeping duties, and manages department records.
- Assists with data and statistical information for Community Services Component programs.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of business English and spelling.
- Knowledge of the objectives, principles, practices and procedures of community involvement and safety programs and concepts.
- Knowledge and ongoing training of basic marketing and social media principles
- Ability to understand, follow and read written and oral instructions.
- Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to develop, coordinate and promote successful social media campaigns.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate marketing projects.
- Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications to include Microsoft office suite, Social Media Platforms and the internet.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment e.g., computer terminals, printers, copy machines, telephone systems, facsimile machines.
- Skill in written and oral communications for the effective public presentation of police department events through social media.

- Required conduct is to be ethical and fair while representing the City. - This is a designated "Recovery" classification in the City's Emergency Operations Plan and will require the employee occupying this position to work for declared emergencies. Completion of appropriate level of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training is mandatory within one year of employment.
