Incumbents in this position monitor assigned areas, ensure compliance with city ordinances, verify visitor identification for access to City property, oversees security cameras, and coordinates with public safety departments in emergencies to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

- Performs security checks by monitoring assigned areas, patrolling facilities, and ensuring compliance with city policies and ordinances.
- Acts as the first point of contact for visitors, greeting them, verifying identification, and granting or denying access to city facilities.
- Monitors security cameras, alarm systems, and surveillance equipment to detect and report suspicious or unlawful activities.
- Responds efficiently and effectively to eliminate and reduce dangers which present emergencies, when needed.
- Assist with traffic control and visitor check-in/check-out at city events, commission meetings, and other public gatherings requiring security presence.
- Notifies departments of visitor/guests arrivals.
- Ensures compliance with security protocols by maintaining updated security documentation, post orders, and training materials at assigned stations.
- Participates in Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations, assisting with emergency preparedness and response efforts as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of city policies, security procedures, and state laws to uphold security licensing and regulatory compliance.
- Reports safety hazards, suspicious behavior, or policy violations to the appropriate authorities while proactively addressing potential security threats.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) to two (2) years of security experience preferred.
- Class “D” Security License required, Class “G” Security License (preferred).
- Possess CPR/First Aid and Stop The Bleed certification or obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Possess a Carry Concealed Weapon License (CCW) or obtain within six months of hire.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
