Pay
This position is an hourly position at pay grade 109.
Attendance
Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities
- Prepares and submits billing requests to Medicaid, Medicare, private insurers, and applicable parties for payment for patient/client services provided by the Health District.
- Manages and processes medical claims, invoices, and payment requests.
- Performs required administrative, financial, and accounting duties related to management of Health District patient/client medical claims and related duties.
- Participates in data collecting efforts through review of medical charts and death certificates using STD case definition (CDC form) for reporting documented cases from these sources.
- Establishes and maintains a registry and system of confidential record keeping.
- Provides technical assistance to physicians, hospitals and infection control practitioners regarding the STD case surveillance definition, form completion and HIV reporting procedures and laws.
- At least monthly, monitors surveillance activities through contact with reporting sources.
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience
- A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered
- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
