What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Clinic Instructor position at City of Cottage Grove?
The Golf Clinic Instructor will assist in group lessons, providing expert instruction in golf techniques, rules, and strategies to players of all ages and skill levels. They will play a critical role in promoting golf at River Oaks by organizing clinics, workshops, and specialized training sessions that enhance players' skills and foster a love for the game. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching and has a passion for golf, as well as a commitment to helping others improve their skills and confidence on the course.
Clinics generally are offered 5 days a week including nights and weekends.

- Conduct group lessons tailored to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced golfers. Adults and Juniors.
- Demonstrate and explain golf techniques, including stance, swing mechanics, putting, and other essential skills.
- Provide constructive feedback and practice drills to improve players' performance.
- Assist in River Oaks Summer Junior Camps.
- Assist in Designing, organizing, and promoting golf clinics and workshops.
- Develop programs tailored to various age groups, including juniors, adults, and seniors.
- Create specialized sessions for different aspects of golf, such as putting, driving, short game, and course management.
- Share ideas for equipment and techniques needed to stay up with latest programs.
- Cultivate a welcoming, motivating, and inclusive environment for participants.
- Build rapport with clients to ensure high satisfaction and encourage returning players.
- Work with club management to enhance the visibility of golf programs and attract new clients.
- Ensure safe use of facilities and enforce golf course rules and etiquette.
- Maintain teaching equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong teaching and coaching abilities, with patience and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work with diverse groups, including youth and adults of various skill levels.
- Ability to stand, walk, and demonstrate golf techniques for extended periods.
- Prior experience as a golf instructor or coach, with a strong understanding of golf techniques and rules.
- PGA/LPGA certification or other recognized golf instruction certification is highly desirable.
- High school, college, professional playing background.
