What are the responsibilities and job description for the Victim Advocate position at City of Cripple Creek?
This position performs work as a victim advocate for the Cripple Creek Police Department by providing support to victims and witnesses of crimes. Provides victims with information regarding their case. Responds to crisis situations to provide intervention, comfort to victims and make referrals to support agencies.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with any related degrees or certifications in psychology or human services related field from an accredited university or college is preferred; experience in victim assistance or victimology is also preferred; demonstrated equivalent experience and education which provides the skills and abilities required for the job may be substituted for listed requirements.
Once hired will need to work towards and acquire Basic Advocate Certification and maintain throughout employment.
Other requirements include being at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Colorado driver's license or obtain within 30 days of hire.
The successful applicant must be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from all states in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Pay: $46,460.00 - $54,658.00 per year
