Job Summary
The Pool Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting a well-balanced aquatic program at the City Municipal Plunge, working closely with the Aquatic Coordinator or Recreation Supervisor to assure an efficient operation by supervising Lifeguards, Recreation Leaders, and Cashiers, and keeping records and writing reports pertaining to staff and the maintenance of equipment, facilities, and programs.
Duties
- Organizes and conducts a well-balanced aquatic program at the Culver City Municipal Pool.
- Perform lifeguard duties during public recreation swimming hours.
- Supervises pool deck, enforces regulations, prevents accidents and effects rescues.
- Assists with pool maintenance and operation and the testing of chemicals.
- Maintains pool records.
- Attends staff meetings and service training programs.
The following tasks are typically performed by individuals in this classification but are not considered essential.
- Keeps accurate records of pool temperature, chlorine, and pH of water, and other related factors on a daily basis, and submits written reports to the Aquatic Coordinator or Recreation Supervisor.
- Changes chlorine bottles and caustic feeder barrels, when necessary.
- Develops and distributes publicity on pool activities.
Minimum Requirements
Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: one year of experience as a lifeguard and/or swimming instructor and must be at least 21 years of age.
Possession of a current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid Certificates, and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
