Under the supervision of the Information Services Director, you will oversee and manage the GIS operations within the city, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.Key Responsibilities : Coordinate GIS activities and support organizational goals across various departments.Develop and implement GIS policies, procedures, and standards.Manage and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.Perform data analysis, mapping, and spatial data management tasks.Develop and maintain GIS applications and tools for departmental projects and initiatives.Provide technical support and training to staff on GIS applications and tools.Stay updated on the latest GIS technologies, trends, and best practices.TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in GIS management or coordination.Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Autodesk) and related technologies.Knowledge of geospatial principles, cartography, coordinate systems, and database management.Strong project management and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with diverse stakeholders.Preferred Skills : Performing spatial analysis and creating high-quality maps and visualizations.Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in GIS systems.
