Overview
In this role, the Chief Information Officer has an exceptional opportunity to develop and advance the IT strategy for the City of Dallas, inclusive of cutting-edge solutions, and to lead the execution of this strategy over the long term. Success in this role will require strong leadership and communication skills including the ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) leads the department of Information Technology Services (ITS) which contributes to achieving the City's mission to "enhance the vitality and quality of life for all in Dallas" by empowering the residents, visitors and businesses through sustainable, reliable, efficient, and effective technology services, infrastructure, and smarter government.
Information Technology Services has five divisions :
- Business Application Management
- Business Management Services
- Enterprise Technology Optimization & Transformation
- IT Security and Compliance Services
- Enterprise Infrastructure Services
The CIO conducts long-range planning, organizes, directs, and controls all data processing, programming, local network support, radio and data communications, and telephone communications for the City of Dallas.
The CIO reports directly to the Assistant City Manager within the Office of the City Manager.
