Overview
The Senior Grants / Contract Compliance Specialist provides oversight, leadership, and support of grants and contracts for their assigned department or program. Manages grant reporting, prepares various monthly evaluations, and reports. Provides technical guidance for grant and contract compliance queries.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates contract compliance with vendors and other agencies and monitors funding through established grants.
- Checks that invoices are accurate, and charges applied are appropriate to the project; tracks and accounts for funding and grant monies while monitoring contract specifications and expectations.
- Coordinates, conducts, and participates in various community meetings with vendors and training providers, Division and team management meetings, and other critical meetings.
- Gathers, compiles, and organizes the annual reports (HUD, City, departmental appropriations, etc..) ensures accuracy of information and correct accounting of monies and spending.
- Collaborates and coordinates with other management to resolve the citizen complaints and other issues; supports vendor relations and implements protocols to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Administers grants, funding, and tracking grant budget using the Advantage Management System (AMS).
- Performs all other work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
1 Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws relating to water utility.
2 Knowledge of grant administration and contract compliance.
3 Knowledge of supervision and personnel management.
4 Knowledge of environmental inspections, basic chemical analysis, and general water management.
5 Ability to handle contracts serving water utility.
6 Ability to monitor and administer grants serving water utility.
7 Ability to understand TCEQ regulations and report as necessary.
8 Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
9 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
