Overview
The Aquatic Center Manager supervises, oversees, monitors, schedules, and supports the daily operations of the aquatics facility and all staff performing various safety and facility work. Work is done seasonally.
Essential Functions
- Oversees, leads, supervises, and monitors staff; performs all scheduling, training, and performance reviews; ensures productivity and quality standards are met.
- Maintains employee records, payroll, training, discipline, and other personnel actions.
- Monitors and maintains water chemistry by conducting water chemical tests to maintain appropriate water quality and documentation; ensures compliance with health department standards; inspects pool and surrounding area for general maintenance and assigns necessary clean up duties to staff.
- Compiles and submits operating reports which includes daily receipts and attendance and accident and emergency rescue reports.
- Collects, secures, and processes pool revenues in accordance with established cash handling procedures; maintains adequate inventory by ordering all necessary supplies and equipment; uses RecTrac for ticket sales, registrations and concessions.
- Implements rules and policies and directs and assists staff in explaining rules and operating procedures to pool users; disciplines and suspends swimmers who flagrantly disobey rules; acts to immediately resolve emergency situations as required.
- Conducts periodic emergency drills and regular meetings; oversees and supports special events and activities within the pool area.
- Manages and oversees the pool schedule to ensure the effective use of the facility; conducts and coordinates activities within the pool area to ensure efficient use of space.
- Provides exceptional customer service and supervises the providing the same.
- Performs any and all other work as needed or required.
- Knowledge of Lifeguarding and aquatics safety.
- Knowledge of first aid, standards of care, maintaining needed equipment, and adequate supplies
- Knowledge of aquatics center rules for operation.
- Knowledge of swimming pool maintenance and chemistry.
- Ability to supervise, lead, and train lifeguarding and safety personnel.
- Ability to create effective schedule to support aquatics activities.
- Ability to handle emergency situations quickly and effectively,
- Ability to swim, run, walk, stand, and perform a wide range of physical abilities.
- Ability to provide customer service and ensure patron safety for a large number of patrons at a large aquatics facility.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
